CONROE, Texas - Consolidated Communications announced the availability of its Midwest Network at COMPTEL Plus this week. The newly deployed network covers the major cities of Pittsburgh, PA, Indianapolis, IN, and St. Louis, MO, and Chicago, IL, will be added to the Midwest Network in late 2009.
Consolidated Communications' Midwest Network also offers access to other essential markets in Illinois, including Springfield, Ill., and Mattoon, Ill., (Consolidated's main Illinois tandem for ILEC operations.) Through the company's acquisition of the former North Pittsburgh Systems Inc., Consolidated Communications also offers connections to Gibsonia, Pa., (Consolidated's main Pennsylvania tandem) and all ILEC and CLEC locations in the Pittsburgh, Pa., area.
Services offered through the Midwest Network include SONET, ring protected circuits for DS1 to OC48s, Carrier Ethernet from 100MB to 1G and wholesale I/P bandwidth up to 500Mb. The Midwest Network can be accessed at Consolidated's Carrier POPs:
- St. Louis: 900 Walnut
- Indianapolis: 733 W. Henry
- Chicago: TBD (2009)
- Pittsburgh: 2500 N. Allegheny
